Stories Unsung
A collaboration between Ryerson University, Aspen Family Services, The Foundation Lab and the amazing team of community members who have joined us at The Heart of The North East.

This research/community development project is examining the strength of using music to bond previously self identified isolated individuals who are looking to strengthen their social threads with an understanding that this action builds resiliency in isolated communities.

Together we are using Forum Theatre techniques, songwriting and drama to build a play based on their collective struggle as community members in a marginalized area of the City of Calgary.

The question they are asking the audience in this bold and exciting creative realization process is:
Does it matter if we have differing belief systems, and if it does what are we going to do about it?  How can we move forward as human beings with dignity and respect in this city, this country and the world.

Stories Unsung will return in the fall, watch for next year's location and information coming soon!

 Sustainable MRC

In the spring The Foundation Lab partnered with the inspiring youth of SMRC to bring you Recycled Meaning.  A forum play explored the question of how we sustain sustainability.    The play explores the challenges in how we match our ideals with the fiction of the "real" world.

It was such a tremendous success that we held over for another performance and hope to bring the team back together in the fall for more conversations for change.

Alberta Liberal Party

The Alberta Liberal Party has been exploring their history, orienting stories and myths in an effort to move forward as a party in the most adaptive was possible.   The Foundation Lab was proud to be a part of their most recent convention with A Frank Liberal Story.   This play was a hybrid of forum theatre and scenario planning.   The audience had an opportunity to explore the past and consider future scenarios in a fun, engaging and non threatening atmosphere.   Watch for it soon on youtube for your chance to engage in the conversation around bringing democracy back to Alberta.
